The upcoming Vietnam International Digital Week 2025, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, will bring together leading global figures to address the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation and AI governance. The event is scheduled to run from October 27-29, 2025, in Ninh Bình, featuring ministerial roundtables, international forums, workshops, and technology showcases.
At the opening session, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair - serving as Chair of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change - will deliver a keynote on Vietnam’s role in global dialogues around digital governance and responsible AI. Alongside him, Amandeep Singh Gill, United Nations Under - Secretary - General for Digital Technology and Emerging Technologies, will speak on global challenges and frameworks for AI governance.
The theme for the week - “Institutions for Artificial Intelligence - AI Governance” - is designed to guide discussions on policy, regulatory frameworks, and international cooperation for safe, trustworthy, and human-centric AI development. High-level participants expected include leaders from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the UN, ASEAN member states, the World Bank, the EU, as well as ministers from partner nations such as Australia, South Korea, and the United States.

In a press briefing held in September, Deputy Minister Bùi Hoàng Phương emphasized the significance of the Digital Week as a key forum for government agencies, international organizations, and tech enterprises to exchange views on trends and strategies in digital transformation, digital economy, and digital society. He noted that this event, together with the National Innovation Week and milestone anniversaries of the postal, telecommunications, and science & technology sectors, represents a triad of major activities spearheaded by the Ministry in 2025.

Since its inaugural edition in 2022 in Hanoi, the Vietnam International Digital Week has become one of the region’s most respected forums for digital transformation. In 2025, it will be hosted in Ninh Bình in collaboration with the provincial government, continuing Vietnam’s efforts to position itself as a leader in shaping responsible AI policy in Southeast Asia.
